WELCOME
First of all, welcome to New Bethel! Here, we consider ourselves to be family. We strive to be followers of Jesus – followers who love God and people, and try to prove it daily in our local communities, towns and cities, as well as globally. Below we have our vision and mission stated clearly so no one has to wonder what we stand for or why we exist as a church.
Vision Statement: “To manifest and make known the glory of God, so that individuals may experience and be transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Mission Statement: “New Bethel exists to equip and mobilize the church by the power of the Holy Spirit in delivering individuals from the bondage of sin, discipling them into devoted Christ followers, and deploying them as leaders who transform our world for Jesus”
We strive to be a church known for praying for and serving our communities, helping the needy and blessing others by being Christ’s hands and feet. We love the Lord and strive to exemplify Him in all we say and do. We’re a non-denominational church in a rural area, but we consider ourselves to be in a prime location as we’re so close to several counties – centrally located between Scott, Jefferson to Clark to Jackson, Jennings and Washington counties.
We’re glad you stopped by our website – feel free to browse through the site to find out more about us! Probably the best way to learn what we’re really all about is to join us for a worship service sometime! We understand that it can be intimidating, even uncomfortable, to attend a church service for the first time at a new place, so we truly try to make our services as welcoming to newcomers as possible. Feel free to come visit anytime; we promise you’ll be greeted with a smile and a warm welcome!
FAQ’s About Sunday Morning Service
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
You can wear whatever you’re comfortable in. We’re more concerned about who you are and getting to know you than what you wear. At New Bethel, you’ll see all different styles.
WHAT HAPPENS AT A TYPICAL SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE?
Sunday mornings are fun! We come together to fellowship, sharpen one another, worship the Lord and grow deeper in our walks with Christ. At 10:00, we usually open with a worship song and have some announcements about upcoming events. After a time of greeting one another, our praise team ushers the church into a time of worship to prepare our hearts for the message. Our worship is contemporary and the goal of our praise team is to allow the Holy Spirit to guide the entire worship time. After praise and worship time, our Pastor shares whatever message God has put on his heart. There are no rules here; we just have a loose guideline for a service and we let the Holy Spirit lead each week. Come join us and see what God has in store for you!
WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?
Outlet Ministries (Children’s Ministry) – We wholeheartedly invest in our children! In Matthew 19:14, Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” And at New Bethel, we take this calling to care for and teach our children seriously. We strive to provide a children’s ministry that encourages kids to participate, from lessons and games to praise and worship. Our goal is to present Jesus Christ in a relevant way in special services just for kids!
Sparks (Birth – Pre-K) You are more than welcome to have your children stay in the service with you! We do provide nursery care during the service in the New Bethel Center for those interested. The little ones have a Bible lesson, play time, music and snacks.
Grounded (K – 5th Grade) Sunday mornings at 10am, kids have their very own time of learning after worship! Kids Church is a dynamic and exciting service where kids (usually three years to 5th grade) learn about God and grow in their relationships with Jesus Christ. This is a fun, inviting environment that allows kids to learn through fun, games, Bible lessons and prayer. All kids are encouraged to bring their Bibles and a friend! Kids Church is happening every Sunday morning in the red brick church building from 10am to 11:15am. (We have a secure sign-in and sign-out process for parents/adults who bring children to Kids Church.)
Surge (6th – 12th Grade) Teens are encouraged to stay in the service. We have youth services and get-togethers for Middle and High School students throughout the month. Check out our Facebook page for more info!
AM I EXPECTED TO GIVE MONEY?
It’s important that our guests know that they aren’t expected to give anything. If you do wish to give, we have tithe and offering boxes located near each entrance.
WHAT IF I HAVE OTHER QUESTIONS?
No problem! We’d love to hear from you. Feel free to contact us and we’ll get with you ASAP.
